The Hank Aaron Trail is near the Milwaukee Mennonite Church. Named in honor of baseball legend Hank Aaron, this 12 mile trail provides a continuous connection between Milwaukee’s Miller Park Stadium and the Lake Michigan lakefront, as well as providing connections to famous Milwaukee landmarks such as the historic Ward Theatre on the grounds of the Historic Soldiers Home, the Wisconsin State Fair Park and the Pettit National Ice Center. Our hosts invite you to explore the trail in a bike/run/walk event before the conference, while raising funds for CDC’s Leadership Development Fund. All are welcome and encouraged to take part in this annual fundraiser event.

Parking is available in the Kearney & S76 Park & Ride lot that is due east of the Pettit Center’s parking lot near 76th St. You can then exit the parking lot onto 76th St and go south 1/2 block and enter the Trail.

Fundraising: We ask that participants find sponsors for funds or donate a minimum of $20, and families raise or donate a minimum of $50. Pledges may be obtained to raise additional funds (download a Bike Run Walk Pledge Form). Individuals and families participating will receive a T-shirt. Register below or download a Bike, Run, Walk Registration Form and mail it to the conference office. You may turn in your pledge forms and pick up your t-shirt at the event site. All of the funds raised will go into the CDC Leadership Development Fund. If you do not wish to collect pledges, you may add your registration fee and donations to your conference registration.
The Leadership Development Fund provides resources for our pastors, such as helping new pastors engage in the Transitioning into Ministry program provided by MC USA. The fund also helps provide the Healthy Boundaries Training program that trains all credentialed persons to identify the complexity of relationships in ministry and provides essential understandings and practical ways to manage these relational and ethical boundaries with integrity and faithfulness.

Sign in and receive maps and information at the event site on June 20. You may turn in your pledge forms and pick up your t-shirt. All of the funds raised will go into the CDC Leadership Development Fund. The official start time is 1:00 p.m., but you may start earlier or later if you wish. Your route begins at the east side of Petitt Ice Center Park and Ride Parking Lot. Please plan to carry a bottle of water with you. We will provide drinks and snacks.
Logistics: You should bring your own equipment for this event, including bikes, running shoes, water bottles, etc. Consider bringing smartphones or GPS devices to help you on the route. It is important that you at least have a cell phone. Printed maps of routes will be provided at the registration table and at the starting point. Bike rental is available through Bubler Bikes. Payment: Make checks payable to Central District Conference and send to the CDC office, 1015 Division St, Goshen, IN 46528. If also registering for the annual meeting, registration fees and donations for the bike/run/walk event may be included with registration fees on the adult registration form.
